Musty & Mold Smell in Car
A musty or moldy smell is a symptom, not the problem. It usually means damp carpet, a blocked drain, contaminated underlay or growth hidden below trim. We diagnose before deodorizing, so the treatment addresses whatever is producing the smell instead of covering it with fragrance.

Signs this service may fit.
- 01 Odour is strongest after rain or overnight parking
- 02 Smell comes through the vents when the heat or AC starts
- 03 Air fresheners only hide it for a few days
- 04 A past leak or spill that seemed to dry on its own
What the scope can include
Odour and moisture-source inspection
Under-carpet and hidden-area checks
Deep cleaning and extraction where needed
Fumigation, drying and verification
Every vehicle is inspected before the price and scope are confirmed. Clearing blocked drains and fixing the moisture source are part of the job. Body work, parts replacement and laboratory testing are only included when written into the quote.
Pricing
$700-$2,000
Most car mold removal jobs land between $700 and $2,000. Where yours falls depends on how far the mold has spread and how deeply it has rooted into the materials. Light surface growth on a few panels sits at the lower end. If we need to pull the seats and carpet liner to reach moisture underneath, or the growth calls for stronger chemicals and equipment, the price moves up. We confirm the number after inspecting the car, before any work starts.
Plan to leave the vehicle with us for 2 to 3 days in most cases. Fumigation, the interior detail and the final drying each need their own time, and cutting any of them short is how mold survives.
